Nose bump is another name for a dorsal bump. This condition refers to bone and cartilage irregularities on the nose. This appears as a raised area on the nose bridge and is most prominent when viewed from the side. <\/span><\/p>\n

This condition is genetic when one is born with this dominant trait that they have inherited from their parents. The bump could also become more pronounced with age. Trauma to the nose can also cause this condition as the injury can result in the formation of calcium deposits and bone growth at the area of impact. This could form a dorsal bump that wasn\u2019t already there or make an existing one appear more prominent.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the more famous examples of a bump on the nose comes from Barbara Streisand. While she may have embraced it as a physical trait that defines her look, there are others with the same condition who prefer to have a smooth, straight slope on their nose bridges.
